Thank you for your interest in submitting to Delver’s Square! As over-used as this phrase may be, it is literally true that this site is only as good as its users make it. With that in mind, we’ve chosen to use the Joomla! Content Management System to make contributing as painless as possible. The Basics of Submitting (revised Feb '09)
Submitting to Delver's Square is now a one-step process. Simply email your submission to

. You can also email there with questions prior to, during, or after your submission. Note that this is a change from the previous version of the site. At the moment there is no "MyContent" option. Sorry.
The Review Process When you are finished and have saved your work, you should know that it isn’t immediately published. First, the admin team will review your work. We are primarily interested in the following things: - Is your submission clearly written? Does it present its ideas well?
- Did you use proper grammar and spelling? This isn’t school, but you do need to communicate clearly.
That’s about it! For the most part we aren’t judging whether your work is “good” or “interesting.” There are a lot of different tastes out there, and we aren’t publishing for profit, so even if the admins don’t find your submission interesting doesn’t mean we won’t publish it. Note that, unsurprisingly, we reserve the right not to publish anything we don’t want to for whatever reason. Not to be jerks but, well, we aren’t psychic. Something may come up that we haven’t thought of and we’re not going to paint ourselves into a corner. Submitting Images for the Gallery Delver’s Square has a Gallery for pictures, maps… you know, look-see stuff. Due to a vagary of the software, however, you can not upload directly to the gallery even though is sort of looks like you can. Instead, please email any gallery submissions to

just like you would any other submission. Include any explanatory information that you deem necessary, and we’ll take it from there. Who Owns Submissions? Short and sweet: you do. We make no claims to your work, with one exception: by submitting your work to us you are giving us permission to publish it. If you do ever republish your work elsewhere, it’d be nice if you credited us with initial publication, but that’s about it. What Should I Submit? We have quite a lot of server space available to us, so the short answer is “whatever you want.” However, if you’re in the mood to be particularly helpful, here are some suggestions: - Not everybody is an artist. If you have artistic talents, providing Ptolus-specific (or at least fantasy urban themed) art is a real blessing to those of us that get flustered with stick figures.
- This is doubly-true for cartography. If you’ve got a gift for maps, people will love you.
- Several of the most popular articles on Delver's Square are references, such as a compilation of all the dieties mentioned in the Big Book and a collection of all of the Gather Information checks. People like useful tools that make their DMing lives easier.
- Monte Cook went to a lot of trouble to provide all manner of interesting encounters and locations. Try and find the spaces that he didn’t fill, rather than competing with the things he wrote. No offense, but given that this is a fan site for his work, most readers will probably prefer his stuff.
- There are many, many items of interest in Ptolus that were given cursory explanations to stimulate exploration. Filling in the details on an NPC or location based on your own game is always interesting.
